Getting back to what I love

This morning I woke up and had a wonderful revelation. I think I can get back to swimming again! I’ll use my handy dandy snorkle (since I can’t extend my back to breathe) and paddle away for 30 whole minutes. I really have missed it, it’s such a great time to relax and think while torching calories and working every muscle in your body.

anigif_enhanced-buzz-30242-1354724436-1She’s excited too. I’m thinking I’ll try the natatorium because I leave for school so soon and I don’t want to pay for a second gym membership. A pool is a pool though right? Plus I’ve heard they have all kinds of props to help you do pool related exercises, like vests for water running and stuff. Could be fun!

This is not news, but I am counting down the days until I get back to college. I go back and forth between very nervous and insanely excited. Once I get there and start studying and doing well I know all uncertainty will be gone so I just want to get started!

enhanced-buzz-24982-1348981843-9This weekend is going to be SO AWESOME. Tonight I get to babysit some of my most favorite kids ever and take them to see Wreck It Ralph. I’ve been dying to see that so it’s perfect!

wreck_it_ralph_gold_medal_a_lThen on Saturday morning I’m headed to Bozeman to see my best friends for the night! My friend Hunter texted me yesterday and said he’s heading down there and asked if I wanted to tag along, or rather, if I wanted to drive. My friend Christina has a bed for me so in about 3 minutes the plan was made! It’ll be a blast and a great change of scene.

Just Keep Swimming

Literally!

I may have a broken back and all, but I’m not going to let that be an excuse to get lazy! Those damn Pinterest photos shamed me into keeping my physique despite an injury.

 

Yeah, yeah. I’m totally inadequate…BUT I SWAM OKAY?! And it was actually really hard! I went for an hour and ended up completing about a mile. I did freestyle, back stroke, and then did this sexy thing where you stick a kickboard under your belly and drag your body with only your arms. It kind of makes you look like a dying shipwreck victim struggling to find a lifeboat…(morbid?). Oh the things we do for fitness.

Did I mention I wear a snorkle while doing all of this? It’s bad for my back to twist or extend backwards to breathe so I need one! Well that’s what my doctor said anyway. I  think he is secretly trying to destroy my chances of meeting my future husband at the gym. Like, ever. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE! In a few days I will have lap swimming fins AND webbed gloves.

Oh Harry. You’re too sweet. Stop it.

For the rest of the day I’ll be laying around reading “The Game of Thrones”, studying some Spanish, and watching movies! Hope you have a great day, I’ll check in later 🙂
